It is not necessary for me to discuss the
minor point dealt with in the first paragraph of Major-
General Hatton's letter of the 23rd. June, especially as I
understand the Military Authorities
have no immediate in-
tention of making the landing place suggested by Colonel
Brown; nor is it I think necessary to deal withthe point
raised in paragraph 6, that a proposed reclamation in Hung
Hom Bay to the East of Gun Club Hill at Kowloon will either
result in depriving the native artillery barracks there of
the
